Brantling Ski Racers Earn Multiple Podium Finishes Across Western New York

Members of the Brantling Ski Racing Association had a strong weekend of competition, earning multiple podium finishes across several Western New York ski venues.
On Saturday, BSRA’s U10 and U12 athletes competed at Hunt Hollow Ski Club, where several racers delivered standout performances. Kennedy placed second in the U10 Girls division, Benjamin earned third in U10 Boys, and Albert finished second in U12 Boys, continuing a successful season for the club’s younger racers.

​Also on Saturday, BSRA’s U14 athletes were racing slalom at Holiday Valley Resort. Kendall secured a third-place finish in a competitive field, contributing another podium result for the association.

The momentum carried into Sunday when the U14 racers traveled to Holimont Ski Area. Kendall delivered a strong performance and captured first place, closing out the weekend with a top finish.

Brantling Ski Racing Association is a youth alpine ski racing program based in Wayne County, providing athletes with training and competitive opportunities throughout the region. Coaches and families praised the racers’ determination, sportsmanship, and continued progress throughout the weekend’s events.

Brantling skiers have strong finish to season

Brantling Ski Race Association (BSRA) had a race-packed weekend, with racers taking home awards at each race. BSRA President Caitlyn McKechney congratulated "all our racers for their outstanding performances!" on the teams Facebook page. 
BSRA celebrated their racers wins at the last two Genesee Valley Ski Council (GVSC) races, one hosted at Hunt Hollow Ski Resort on Saturday and one at Brantling Ski and Snowboard center on Sunday. Some BRSA racers traveled to the Skaneateles Robins Race in Skaneateles on Saturday as well. 
On Saturday March 2nd, some BRSA racers traveled in the rain to the Skaneateles Robins Race where  for U14 Boys, Kallen Brotsch took home second earning Silver. U8 Girls, Kennedy McKechney took third earning Bronze. 
The rainy weather didn't stop the GVSC Giant Slalom race hosted at Hunt Hollow. U12 Girls racer Kendall Bierly took first, earning her Gold, her second Gold for the council. U10 Girls racer Liliana (Lily) Schreiber took third earning her a Bronze Medal, her second medal for the council.
Despite the warm weather the GVSC Slalom race hosted at Brantling prevailed. U12 Girls, Kendall Bierly took first and was able to take home her third Gold for the council. This earned Kendall first place in the U12 Girls Top Racer Awards for GVSC. Also for U12 Girls, Alina VanTyle took third earning Bronze.  This was her third medal for the council which earned her the fourth place for the U12 Girls Top Racer Awards for GVSC. 
U12 Boys Bentley McKechney took home fourth for his second medal in the council. U10 girls, Lynnie Hogan took first and was able to take home her second Gold for the council. This earned her the first place U10 Girls Top Racer Awards for the council. U10 Boys,  Albert Gallmon took first earning Gold for his second medal in the council and Johnathan Lennox took third earning a Bronze medal.

BSRA Vice President, Matthew Schreiber said "The team has really grown this year! Week after week I see the team having fun, working hard and improving their skills. We can't wait to see what develops next year"
As warmer weather approaches the race season is winding down. The team hopes to race in the New York State Ski Race Association (NYSSRA) Kandahar festivals later this month if the weather permits, and if not they know the team had a blast this season and looks forward to the 24/25 race season. 

Local Youth Ski Racers win big at Bristol Mountain race

Lead by Coach Mike Healy, the Brantling Ski Race Association Racers took home Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Giant Slalom Race at Bristol Mountain this past Sunday.  U10 Racer, Haley Schreiber of Walworth took home her first Gold Medal for the U10 Girls making her coaches, team and family very proud. Haley said her “favorite part of ski racing is competing with friends”. U12 Racer, Kendall Bierly of Newark took home the Bronze for the U12 Girls. A team rep said “Kendall is so impressive, she loves competition and has the heart of a champion! She is one of the youngest U12 girls in the Genesee Valley Ski Council (GVSC) and is already making her mark!” Another young racer from the team making his mark on the racing scene is Kody Lund of Newark. Kody took home Silver in the U12 boys and has his eye on gold for the next race at Hunt Hollow in Naples, NY in March.
