 Unsanctioned Youth Ski Racing Program
U8–U12

Brantling Ski Racing Association’s U8–U12 Unsanctioned Youth Ski Racing Program offers young skiers ages 7–11 a structured introduction to ski racing without the pressure of official standings. Designed for beginners through developing racers, this program focuses on skill progression, confidence building, and race experience in a fun and supportive environment. Unsanctioned racing allows athletes to participate in locally run races and learning events that emphasize fundamentals and enjoyment over competitive points.

TRAINING
Coaches focus on refining each athlete’s skiing fundamentals while introducing basic racing concepts and techniques. Training emphasizes balance, gate awareness, starts, and confidence on snow — all important building blocks for future competitive racing.

REQUIREMENTS
Athletes should be independent with all equipment, able to carry poles, and able to independently ride lifts such as Diann’s Run and Franz’s Run. Skier experience and ability will be evaluated by coaches. Discussions with the program director can help determine the best fit.
