This past weekend, the Brantling Ski Racing Association (BSRA) hit the road and made our way to Song Mountain for the Matt Piazza Classic, and what a day it was! With a strong crew of competitive and recreational racers—including our U6s (siblings of older racers), U8s, U10's U12s, parents, and even some of our dedicated coaches—we took on the course with speed, skill, and the signature Brantling spirit.
At Brantling, we take ski racing seriously, but we also believe in making every competition fun and memorable. The Matt Piazza Classic delivered on all fronts, with fast turns, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs as we raced alongside teammates, parents, siblings, and coaches. This event wasn’t just about the results—it was about pushing ourselves to be our best, supporting each other, and creating unforgettable memories together.
Of course, we had some incredible performances to celebrate! Elizabeth raced her way to an impressive 2nd place finish in the U6 girls' category, Lila secured 5th place in the U12 girls' division, and Coach Michele showed everyone how it’s done with a 3rd place finish in the women’s category.
Beyond the podiums, the energy and camaraderie of the day were unmatched. Whether it was a racer’s first trip to the start gate or their hundredth, everyone gave it their all, cheered on their teammates, and soaked up the thrill of the competition.
A huge thank you to our racers, families, and coaches who made this trip such a success. Your dedication and enthusiasm are what make BSRA such a special community.
We can’t wait for the next race—until then, keep carving those turns and bringing that Brantling energy to every run!
Go Brantling!

We are thrilled to congratulate our club racers,  Alina VanTyle and Kendall Bierly, on their outstanding performances at the High School Section V Sectional Championship Races! Their hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Alina VanTyle, representing Our Lady of Mercy High School, contributed to an outstanding team performance, helping her school secure a 1st place finish for Class B! Her hard work and teamwork played a crucial role in this victory, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her teammates.

Kendall Bierly, racing for Newark High School, had an incredible showing, earning 2nd place in Slalom and 3rd place in Giant Slalom for Class B. Her skill and determination on the course were nothing short of inspiring, and her results are a testament to her dedication to the sport.

A huge shoutout to Vivian Bishop, a former BSRA club racer, for her incredible performance at Sectionals! Vivian dominated the competition, earning 1st place overall in both Slalom and Giant Slalom across all classes. This is an extraordinary achievement, and we are so proud to see her hard work and talent paying off at the highest level!

We also want to recognize Peyton McKechney and Libby Pickering, who were part of Vivian’s team, and are former BSRA club racers as well!, now representing the Marion/North Rose-Wolcott/Wayne Combined  team. Their team secured an impressive 3rd place finish for Class A—a fantastic accomplishment that showcases their dedication and teamwork!

Congratulations to Kendall, Alina, Vivian, Peyton, and Libby for their amazing accomplishments! Your club community is incredibly proud of you all, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you on the slopes. Keep up the fantastic work!
